This IS What Happens On Mars!! July 4, 2007

The reason I chose this title for my ideas on motherhood and such is because I didn’t so much play on the Men are from Mars/Women are from Venus as This REALLY would happen if men ran the world! Our children would grow up very strange!!!

My husband is Mr. Mom right now and let me tell you it is the hardest thing to let go of control of the household. I still have to butt in occasionally! Realizing in Bible study one night that wives are to submitt to thier husbands has caught me up in unfamiliar territory. You see, my name is the only one on the checkbook, I drive the only car, and I pay the bills that NEED to be paid. If it’s a luxury item, we don’t have it. But, because of this my husband (Mr. Mom) has become the unhappy housewife. Therefore I am learning to let go of control, at least some things.

Before, when I stayed at home, I did the shopping, the cooking, and the cleaning. Now my husband is supposed to be in charge of that. However, he shops for 2 or 3 days at a time and buys the name brand everything! So our food budget for the month is spent long before the month is over. And the house is no where near as clean as I kept it. But I simply refuse to pitch in because it’s his thing now and he’s gotta figure it out. Some days I really like being the bread winner. But there are days when I hear how snuggly my girls are being and I just wanna run home for some hugs.
